Genesis Health Clubs to Reopen Three Fort Collins/Loveland Clubs Tuesday, 5/26/2020
Monday, May 25 2020 2:08 PM
Genesis Health Clubs Members,
“You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.”
Today marks a big day for Genesis Health Clubs and our members. As of tomorrow, Colorado will join the rest of our clubs across six states, and we will again be open everywhere not currently under construction. Members are returning, working out, and starting to resume an incredibly important part of their lives and health. We could not be happier to return to serve you again, in the safest way possible.
Here is a quick update for the reopening of all Colorado clubs:
- Miramont North – Reopens 6a Tuesday, 5/26
- Miramont South – Reopens 6a Tuesday, 5/26
- Miramont Centerra – Reopens 6a Tuesday, 5/26
- Fort Collins Club – Remains temporarily closed so we can finish a full multimillion-dollar remodel for you. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but we promise it will be well worth the wait. We plan to have a member-only soft opening in June, with a full grand opening to follow once construction is 100% complete. In the meantime, all Fort Collins Club members will receive an upgrade at no additional charge to premier access and may use all other Genesis Health Clubs locations in Fort Collins and Loveland for the duration of construction. Look for a reopening date and announcement soon!
Though we’re undoubtedly excited to reopen, it’s important for us to do it the right way. While we were closed, we made a commitment to be the safest option for exercise in each of the communities we serve. We worked hard to understand not just the federal, state, and local guidelines, but also what we can do to go above and beyond and keep you safe in the least-intrusive way possible.
Here are just a few of the steps we’re taking to keep you safe, including extra steps specific to the local conditions in Larimer County:
- No fevers. Every staff member and guest will receive temperature screening when they arrive. Anyone with fever or other symptoms will be asked to stay home.
- Space to breathe. Our large facilities give us the room to space you out so you can do your workout with at least six full feet of social distance. We’re strategically blocking off equipment, limiting the size of group exercise classes, and requiring that members in the weight room only use every other machine.
- Cleaner Air. We’ve invested heavily in cutting-edge, virus-eliminating technology, and have added advanced oxidation air purification systems to busy areas of every club. This reduces your risk by killing viruses and bacteria in the air and on surfaces all day long. Natural ionized advanced oxidizers are released directly into the air to purify oxygen and surfaces, so you can breathe easy. Learn more here.
- Comprehensive Sanitization. We’ve added a Sanitization Specialist to each club, who disinfects and sanitizes throughout the day. We are also asking all personal trainers and members to sanitize before and after each equipment use. We’ve added more hand sanitizer, spray bottles, and other products to make sure every surface stays sanitized throughout the day.
- Member Code of Conduct. All members will be asked to do their part by disinfecting before and after each equipment use, maintaining safe social distance, staying home when sick, and doing everything they can to protect those around them. Together, we’ll help stop the spread of this virus in our communities.
- Listen to Heath Authorities. We’re following all federal, state, local, and industry guidance to comply with regulations and follow best practices to make sure you stay safe. Conditions vary from state to state and city to city, and we’ve pledged to meet or exceed all guidance from the relevant health authorities.
During the first phase of reopening, there will be a few changes for you to keep in mind. We plan to follow local conditions closely and announce further steps to return to normal as soon as is safe and possible.
In phase 1:
- By order of Larimer County, buildings will be limited to 50% of total occupancy. We have worked with similar guidance in other states and do not expect major bottlenecks, but will do everything we can to manage capacity so you can work out when you want with plenty of space
- By order of Larimer County, Saunas, Hot Tubs, and Steam Rooms will be temporarily closed
- Group Fitness will be temporarily closed while we seek variance from Larimer County to account for our large studios and extra precautions that we have taken. We expect it to return within a week. You will receive further details on our new reservation system to make sure you always have a spot saved in your favorite classes
- By order of Larimer County, members must wear a mask into the building, but may remove it whenever it inhibits the ability to participate in a fitness activity
- By order of Larimer County, pools may open for training, team practices, or instructional classes provided six feet of distance can be provided between participants during instruction or training in the pool. Lap swimming will be allowed with one participant per lane, but open swim will remain closed through phase I. The Miramont South pool will be closed initially, but we expect to announce an opening date for the season soon. We’ll have our lap swimmers swimming within days!
- Kid’s Club will remain temporarily closed
- All opening clubs will have temporarily reduced hours, which we hope to expand soon:
- M-F 6a-8p
- Sat 7a-6p
- Sun 8a-6p
Stay tuned for more updates coming soon announcing more amenities, expanded hours, and further return towards normal. We couldn’t be happier to have you all back and have the opportunity to serve you again. Welcome back from the bottom of my heart.
Yours in Health,
Rodney Steven II
