Barb ScudderSoucie
Lincoln Regional Youth Director
Ariel Bussey
Camp Director
Ariel holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She joined the team in 2019 as a Camp Counselor and helped launch the very first Mighty Camp season for the Lincoln area. She has graciously taken on the new role of Camp Site Director for the 2020 season. Ariel is currently continuing her education in pursuit of becoming a Speech and Language Pathologist. Her previous experience includes volunteering for summer youth programs as well as having careers working alongside individuals with disabilities – including her older sister with Down syndrome. Ariel is looking forward to making a positive impact by joining both her counselors and campers in building character and appreciating the joys of an active lifestyle together without the need for technology. Her passions include anything outdoors, exercising, watching football, cooking/baking, and spending time with friends and family!
Rosie Lang
Camp Counselor
Rosie is going to be a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall of 2020 and she plans on majoring in biomechanics and film production. This summer will be Rosie’s first time helping with Mighty Camp at the Genesis Racquet Club location. Although this summer will be her first at Genesis, she has been a counselor at several other summer camps over the past few years. Building relationships with the kids and the other counselors has always been a highlight of her summers and she cannot wait for this year’s Mighty Camp to kick off!
Rosie has a close bond with her sisters, all three of whom live in Denver, Colorado with her brother-in-law and new baby nephew. Whenever she is lucky enough to visit them, camping and hiking are always on the to-do list. The outdoors have always been a staple in her life and her sisters and her hope to hike a 14er this fall. In her free time, Rosie enjoys playing her guitar, singing and running her small photography business.
Matthew Mason
Camp Counselor
Matthew will be a senior this coming school year at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. As a passionate promoter of fitness and health, he is pursuing two majors: Exercise Science and Strength & Conditioning. He competes in Cross Country and Track & Field for the Benedictine College Ravens. He is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. Matthew is a first-year camp counselor in Lincoln, Nebraska. He’s pretty new to Nebraska, recently moving from the Chicago area where he’s lived most of his life (Go Cubs!!) Although he’s new, he is very excited for camp and to get to know Lincoln and its people.
Thea Kohmetscher
Camp Counselor
Thea has recently graduated from her junior year at Pius X High School in Lincoln Nebraska. At Pius she is involved with the Music and Theatre Department. She plays 5 instruments and loves to sing and dance. She also loves to run in her free time. After high school Thea is planning on going to Nursing School in hopes of becoming a Neonatal Nurse. Thea decided to join the team this summer because she loves kids and she loves being active. She wants to help kids stay fit and healthy while having tons of fun. Thea is so excited to start her first year of being a counselor!
Parker Webb
Camp Counselor
Parker is a student at Lincoln East high school and will graduate in 2021. After he graduates, he plans on going to SCC. In his free time he mostly trains for bodybuilding and hangs with his friends. This will be his first year with the Mighty Camp team and he is very excited. He fell in love with his job right away working with the kids. His goal for this summer is to have kids pick up skills like decision making and problem solving. Most of all he wants the kids to have fun every second of every day throughout this Mighty Camp season.
Nolan Reid
Camp Counselor
Nolan is going into his senior year at Wesleyan where he studies Biology & Chemistry and is a member of the men’s swim team. He works at Genesis in the aquatics department teaching private swim lessons and coaching swim team.
