Pilates for Golf Friday, June 4, 2010 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Golf demands a delicate balance of mental and physical skill. Pilates enables you to focus on both through mind-body awareness by gaining insight into the inseparable connection between the physical and psychological components of athletic performance. Golfers can take their physical performance to a higher level by training their minds in addition to their bodies.
Yoga and Meditation Friday, June 25, 2010 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Wendy Hobart, Certified Yoga Teacher
This is 60 minutes of yoga, including the Moon Salutations for the full moon, for all levels of students followed by an explanation and practice of pranayama and silent meditation.
Sun Salutations A and B Friday, July 23, 2010 6 to 8 p.m.
Jade Piros, Certified Yoga Teacher
Learn each pose individually, including modifications for students having certain needs. Put it all together with breath work. By the end of the evening, students will know what their own practice of Sun Salutations.
Introduction to Yoga Friday, October 1, 2010 6 to 8 p.m.
Letty Shaw, Certified Yoga Teacher
This session will introduce the basics of a yoga practice, including poses, breath work, what to expect in a yoga class at Genesis, benefits of a yoga practice, etc. This session is mainly for individuals that do not feel comfortable walking into a yoga class without any prior experience, but those wanting to yoga back to the basics will be welcomed as well.
Inversions Friday, October 29, 2010 6 to 8 p.m.
Renee DeTar, Certified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist
This session will focus on the preparatory poses for inversions and inversions at the wall or with a partner. There is an interest in doing inversion at our gym, but for safety reasons separate, time needs to be set-aside with additional teachers and proper instruction.
Restorative Yoga Friday, December 10, 2010 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Letty Shaw, Certified Yoga Teacher
This class will relax and renew the student during this hectic time of year. Props will be used for this class. Students will leave feeling refreshed and ready to take on the holiday season.
Tater-Tot Yoga
Letty Shaw $60 per session
A four to six week (twice/week) session starting in October (TBA)
This new class is designed to be an introductory yoga class for children and their parents. Families will learn fun, beginning yoga postures to not only strengthen and stretch their muscles, but to inspire confidence in balance, and improve coordination and flexibility.
